Harvesting Time

Harvest in the wheatbelt, the busiest time of the year.

Not just for the guys out there taking the off the crops, but for those in the kitchen feeding them. Today I have four to feed. Son 1 is home and working for another farmer, Son 2 is out harvesting and has his partner with him today and Snaggers (Dear Husband) is carting the grain.

So wraps it was all round. Once I'd cut, sliced and grated the fillings, it didn't take long at all. I like to use Tortilla Wraps. I used to like the Old El Paso ones, but they stick together too much, so now I use the Select Brand (Horrors! I do try to avoid these home brands that are taking over the supermarket shelves).

Some banana cake, chocolate peppermint biscuits, peanut biscuits, some fruit and some nuts as well as hot chicken wings and everyone is taken care of for the rest of the day.

Now, to think about tea!!

  1. ooh i bought some wraps today for something different. what do you put in yours megan? i'm in need of some inspiration for the harvest lunch!

  2. Hey Fliss!
I just make meat and salad wraps normally.
Today I made them with left over roast pork, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, grated carrot and cheese and home made mayo. I was going to put in some caramelised onion, but it was a bit long in the tooth, so I have to make some more.

    They went down well!

  3. Meegs sweetie.... all these delicious lunches would keep sooooo much fresher if they were housed in a Tupperware containers!! Lol.....
My beautiful family were all fed today with a yummy club sandwich made in a Tupperware Jelo mould which i prepared last night & just sliced up this morn!Easy peasey!x (Sorry couldn't resist!)

  4. I don't often use Posh Plastic because it just gets wrecked or never returns.
If you looked carefully, the container on the left is PP, it's lid is open and another container is sitting inside the lid.
Order me one of those moulds, will you? Or if you have one in your kit, can I pinch it?

  5. Oh, and at the top of the photo you can see the PP containers which I used to put all the cut up bits in!

  6. Cheeky Debs ~ ???? Must try that Club sandwich you talk about. Now where did I put my Jelly mould ?
